Make An Old Lady Cry, Why Don't You

I took a photo of Mae earlier this week to have printed into Thank you cards via Walgreens. I've been burned by the Walgreens photo department before but I thought, eh it's just a few cards, they can handle it.

Well Walgreens, you made Auntie Pat cry, I hope you're happy! She thought Mae looked so sad and not better like we claim. Granted, Auntie Pat cries at game shows and reality TV but still I felt terrible.

This was the photo I uploaded to the Walgreens site...

and this was what they printed...
Terrible, right!? When I picked them up, I thought the color was a little off and a bit darker, but I didn't have time to have them redone. It looks a little better in person, but still not even close to a match. I sent them out anyway and now I wish I wouldn't have. My great idea of sending a photo to show everyone that Mae is feeling better, backfired... big time.

My God...they gave the poor kid a black eye.

I think even Wal-Mart would do a better job than that.

I hate Walgreens just for that reason. I had to have them reprint birth announcements 3 times to get them right.

Geez! It looks like she has two black eyes...demand your money back and an apology to Aunt Pat ;)

Literally, my jaw dropped when I saw the second picture.

I'm with Riot; I'd say something to the manager and maybe you can get a refund or free ones next time?

OMG! How can they take a beautiful photo and change the entire effect?! I would definitely complain. I mean, really! Sheesh!

oh no... she is still a beauty - if you have any left I'd take them back and ask for a reprint.

I'm so glad to see the top picture ... I too thought she was worse off. But really, where else can you take your pictures to get developed? I've tried Walmart and Walgreens and have only had good luck when I actually print the pictures from my memory chip on the Wal-mart machine. Boo --L

Ouch, yeah that isn't a great copy at all. I can't even see how they've managed to create that effect either because it's not as if the rest of the photo has become darker either.

I like your photo. :)
