Monday Garden Club

Get your gardening gloves and knee pads ready. It's time for another installment of Monday Garden Club.

I had big plans for last week, I really did but didn't manage to get much done. Between the rainy weather and our goofy schedule, the garden was put on the back burner. Not too much to do anyway in the veg. garden until more of the seeds start to grow. The lettuce and radishes are up and there are a few sugar snap pea plants up but I'm still waiting on the rest.

Oh well, today is beautiful and this afternoon I have big plans with a flat of annual flowers.

Last weekend (after I took last weeks photos) I spread the rhubarb tops in the aisles of my garden then covered the leaves with straw from our barn in an attempt to keep the weeds under control this summer. So far, so good.

Speaking of rhubarb, it's still going strong and Binny is loving making everything rhubarb.

Your garden looks great. Thanks for the advice on the preschool decision too.

Love the last 2 photos! I wish I had something nice to add myself but I'll think I'll have to just stick with Wardrobe Wednesday!!

Oops. How inappropriate of me!

You think that first line was an accident? You know I throw old teabags (bawhahaha) in my garden too, after a trip through the compost bin of course.

What's growing in my yard? Weeds, weeds and more weeds.

Great pics as usual, Aliceson.

I just love your garden. So jealous that you have so much space...but happy that my garden is doing so beautifully. :)

Kneepads & Teabags (I really like that, should be the title of a blog or something!). I read that you can boil down the rhubarb leaves for a homemade pesticide, I wonder if you'll get a little of that effect by using them as a weed barrier.

Yeah, my flower beds are soooo full and beautiful this season already! But my garden? Not so grand. Thank God our lives are not depending on these veggies and there's a store nearby! lol

Great idea to use those large leaves like that! My garden is already overrun with weeds.
