Monday Garden Club

Get your gardening gloves and knee pads ready. It's time for another installment of Monday Garden Club.

Front garden progress

Back garden

Radishes

Beans are up

Onions are thriving

Rhubarb is still going strong

Now this is where it gets a little funny, and by funny I don't mean the laughing kind. My dear sweet husband, the Gardener decided he would do something ever so sweet for me and rototill the areas of the garden that I have not yet had a chance to mulch with rhubarb leaves and straw. In doing this great favor for me, he without paying any attention accidentally plowed through half of 2 carefully planted rows of sunflowers. Of course these weren't the plain sunflowers that my mother in law gifted to me in a lovely Cool-Whip container. No, these were the fancy schmancy sunflowers I paid way too much for. Oh well, I'll get over it.

And I can't believe I haven't mentioned the Topsy Turvy yet! You know that damn Qubo kids cartoon channel that runs all of the infomercials? Well, the Topsy Turvy tomato planter was a big one this spring and guess who received one for her birthday? Binny, of course. We'll see how her little hanging tomato does, but at this point my hopes aren't very high, being bent up (toward the sun, duh) and all.

That's about it for veggies, now on to flowers. The yellow irises just started to bloom the other day...

The peonies are almost ready to pop...

and the purple aliums are blooming beautifully.

Now for all you gardeners out there who wish to participate, either leave a comment on what's growing in your yard, or post a Monday Garden Club update on your blog. Don't forget to drop your link in the comments, I'll add you to this post.

You have such a nice big garden. My daughter loves the Topsy Turvy commercials too. She wanted us to get one to avoid all the backbreaking work of planting tomatoes. She is a little sponge.

SMT, That's the line my girls used too! Damn infomercials and their sneaky marketing!
