What Is It? Revealed

Wow, nobody got it... exactly. This is the old tree stump in our front yard that The Gardener decided to "take care of" over the weekend. He and a friend cut the tree down last spring and there the stump sat, for a year. I didn't really mind the stump. In fact is was a good level platform that I could stand on to take sunset photos, and it didn't have any funky branches growing out of it. I figured that eventually we would have the stump ground out (like hire a service to come remove it, and not cause a spectacle on my front lawn). Oh, but this was more fun. What's weirder (terrrible use of the English language, but it's Monday morning. And let me tell you now that I'm already off topic and making no sense. It's maybe not the best idea when you are a guest in someones home to complement the giant stack of laundry teetering on a pile in the closet. Totally not necessary. Instead of doing some much needed laundry pile maintenance, I decided to get up extra early on a Sunday, clean up my messy house, make a big breakfast, get out the good dishes and serve mimosas with a strawberry on the rim of the glass, with only 12 hours notice. What more do you want from me, dammit!) was that I was the one on my belly in our front yard taking pictures of the sun sinking below our smoldering stump.
So, what do you get when you combine 3 men,
a bucket full of drain oil,

glasses of whiskey mixers,

and a bag of stoker coal, in the middle of our front yard burning out an old tree stump? Well, that's family togetherness of course. I document stalk photograph almost everything that happens around here and I wanted to be able to remind my husband of just how he singed off his eyelashes.

Thanks Bonnie (my neighbor) for not reporting these dumbasses guys to the EPA.

They do like burning things, I remember that. Some things never change!

This is what happens when you say "guess what this is?" to a suburban kid...

My husband is jealous. He wants to do that to our stump too.

Of course! It's so obvious now! Men + whiskey = light something on fire!

My husband will stare at flames for hours. Fire is the best husband sitter, ever.

I could totally see my husband in that picture.

So, what kind of compliment, exactly, do you give to someone about their pile of laundry...something like 'I'm really impressed with how high you pile it without any falling off?'...cause that would be impressive.

Leigh,

Pretty much and she kept insisting that a laundry chute would solve my problems. I tried to explain to her that the laundry facilities are not in the basement but in the next room so gravity would be useless. Unless the dirty laundry can be propelled sideways, my laundry will stay in a pile in the corner. I made progress today though only one more load to go, at least until everybody changes clothes again. Never ending!

Yeah, so my hubby wanted to go over and ask how exactly he went about burning the stump...thanks for the blueprints. And-please- we've burnt worse...your hubbys not the one who burnt your yard down.

Men! Why is it they come up with things like that? Well, at least they didn't burn down the house:)

OK I need them over here next. My neighbor has been fighting off a stump for two seasons now and it is horribly ugly!
