Little Singers

You know when you get a song stuck in your head and find yourself walking around the grocery store singing "Hooked on a Feeling?" Well apparently it happens to kids too. I picked up the girls from school the other day to take Mae to a Dr. appointment. As I was waiting for the girls to come out of class, I could hear a little boy singing. At first it just sounded like a bunch of mismatched numbers. Then all of a sudden it was clear. He was singing "867-5309 Jenny." He sang the whole thing! The mom standing next to me laughed so hard I thought she was going to pee herself.

Just last week as Binny and I were waiting for the bus I heard her singing the Michael Franti-Spearhead song "Light Up Ya Lighter." ... At least she finally stopped singing Jingle Bells.

Now make my day and insert a catchy song into my brain.

OMG, so funny you've posted about this. I seriously think I have a disease sometimes because I can't ever get songs out of my head. Why does that happen?!?!?

You know which one is stuck in there today??? This is so weird and I have no idea why:

The Warrior, by Scandal?

I get annoying preschool songs in my head. When I was working I burst out with "Choo, choo, chugga, chugga big red car" by the Wiggles.

Violet keeps singing Rock-A-Bye Baby and then stopping mid stanza to ask, "Does the baby get hurt?" Once I've reassured her, the singing continues.

Not that I can REALLY hear her!

The ABC are a big hit with K but the boys sing "I like big butts" I'm not joking, I'm mortified and DH thinks it is so funny.

OMG, my kids sing the funniest things. Youngest is singing Rock Star by Pink.
The worst was when my oldest was 3 and singing Cleaning out my closet by Eminem. I thought "well, time to put that CD away for a while"
At any given moment I will have any one of a couple of songs in my head. How about this one:

Our house, is a very very very fine house. With 2 cats in the yard. Life used to be so hard...

I know you hate me now. Then there is always this... Every time I make fruit salad I start singing the Wiggle "fruit salad, yummy yummy" Never fails.
