What's for lunch?

Looked at the school lunch menu for today.

Mock lasagna (what does that even mean?)
lettuce & dressing (hardly call that a salad)
Pineapple (I would assume canned)
Apple wedges (probably brown)
french bread (most likely hard as a rock)

Mae's taking a cold lunch today. We have a hard enough time getting her to eat real food. Not much has changed.

I feel your pain. My son is scheduled for Turkey, Gravy & Mashed potatoes or Cold Meat on a Bun today. Not really an option for a 7 year old!

I'm not really sure what the cold meat is but I giggle every time I see it on the menu.

6th graders will eat anything. And the apple wedges are usually in a little plastic bag, with a touch of lemon juice to keep them nice. Not bad. Better than the canned pineapple.

Isn't it crazy how they write out the menus?

Em is getting baked ziti or an oriental wrap, today. I can bet that she'll have the baked ziti.

I forget what the rest of it is, lol.

cold meat sounds slimy.

Apples with lemon- better.

Oriental wrap or baked ziti? I don't know any 6 year olds who would eat am Oriental wrap.

Eww, cold mean on a bun. That sounds like a bad bachelorette party joke (or the Tom Hank's _Bachelor Party_ movie?).

My niece (who is doing her internship for her MA in nutrition in Seattle) has an interesting article on her blog about her recent rotation in school nutrition:

Some it it sounds downright wrong.

Hope all are having blissful Tuesdays.

Cheers!
